2009-04-22 Our 'new' neighbour !!

Many of you will recognise the old barn next door to us, and some of you will recognise Anik who is from 22nd April 2009 officially our new neighbour, She is now begining to renovate.....

2009-04-19 Thunder,Lightning and Hail !!

Hey, we moved to the South of France for the warm, mild climate.........this is what happened last Sunday, the hail was so deep, it looked like snow, Dave got wounded trying to take these pictures, several sharp taps on the head !!!




Yes these are hail stones !








Look at the 'bullet' holes through our Kiwi plant.....several other plants took a battering, but only the really big leaved ones were damaged so badly.

2009-04-18 The Garden

New hose pipe system installed, from the three 300litre tanks Dave put in last year, we are gravity feeding the hose system and testing it now......in the rain !!

Our own leeks on the left and 'wild leeks/garlic' on the right, The wild leeks grow all over our garden, the locals prize them for soup, we think the stalk tastes vaguely of leek, but the bulb and 'bulblet s' don't seem to taste of much at all !!

Turning the compost, and rearranging the macro grubs !!



Our Lidls cold frame, with parsnip, courgette, lemon grass, peppers, capers.....etc..it hasn't blown away.....YET!

2009-0416 NOT A HAPPY BUNNY !!

Kiwi had to be drugged to go to the vet, this was on the journey home after a skin full of anti-biotic for her poor paw. (the vet found the bone was infected, which is why it hadn't healed) unfortunately she has to have another jab next week...........the vet has agreed to let me have the injection so i can do it at home. She was completely mad from about 3 in the aftrnoon, until gone MIDNIGHT!!!

we have just had a new 'traffic calming chicane ' put outside the restaurant........umm that works !
