2011-10-22 Sam’s visit & Fete de Chataigne at St Pons

 

Sam came to visit, just as the weather changed :O( This was taken on her first day, we had just been to the beach, and this was taken in the Valley de l’orb on the way home to Cailho.

 

Next day was the Chestnut fete at St Pons………a little colder, and by the end of the day RAIN !

This certainly beats my small chestnut pan !

 

I am laughing, because I leaned on the rail behind us, and it started to tip over !!

People towers apparently a catalan tradition…..

 

There were some very young children at the top !!

And some very BIG people in the crowd !

After 3 years we have our first crop of olives…..

These are Fairy Ring Champignon, delicious !!

 

and finally the olives, not a huge crop, but its a start !

2011-10-08 Fire at Night !

We had been out for a meal and got back about 10.30pm, we looked at the stars for a few minutes, and then went inside. Because there was supposed to be a good meteor storm we went out again at midnight and this is what we saw…….

We phoned 18 the fire brigade here, but they were already on it…….the fire was out by this morning !
