Dave wanted a practical present, and didn’t have a decent Wheelbarrow, so Kiwi and I bought him one !

 

It has already been used as a beer dray ….an extremely important task……preparing for the New Year . Yes he was careful not to disturb it too much and it is now over Chez nous !

Today we lit the fire for the first time this year, well it is below 20C now !

We were lucky enough to have a Praying Mantis lay her egg case (ootheca) under the eaves, above the guest bedroom……..we would love to see it hatch next year, watch this space !

warning off a potential threat….this was another female bent on laying in the same place.

a bit more than half way, the foam dries to a very “papery” finish which is like a fan of small sections……We assume an egg is laid in each of these sections ?

Finished..off for a nice cup of tea and chat with a passing male, and perhaps a bite to eat !
