Not been a good year for chestnuts….we found them smaller than last year and about 1 in 5 had a worm.
there is a small snake in the middle of this picture….possibly a smooth snake?
Very early one morning ! If you zoom in you can see the mist in the valley…..but it is still a bit dark !!!
We were given this fruit to try….its very nice and one had roots….so i thought…..why not plant it ?

This is its progress (in the house) from 18/10/2014 to 31/10/2014…….just 13 days !
Maybe I should have kept it in a cool part of the house until spring?
The fruit itself has now rotted away…..we will see if the plant lasts the winter….and if we can move about come January

Unfortunately the terrace you see above leaked…..so Dave has had to change all the under board and for a time we saw daylight through the roof again !
I never thought I would see a HORSEBOX in our drive………we borrowed it to collect the HUGE sliding doors we have ordered……and again later to collect the rest of the glass.
I don’t like change !!

On a walk this Sunday afternoon……we saw so many mushrooms it was like a children's book illustration !
At last some edible ones !
