The Fete Des Roses at Viessan

Viessan is along the valley d'orb and has some sunning views, we went on the day of the fete, and our neighbour and good friends Patricia and Jean-Luc were there with her pictures.

we try to take them altogether, but there is always one looking the wrong way...

2007-05-10 Garden, poppies, and Malcolm the third !!

poppies at the garethe new garden is taking shape, slowly we are digging out all the brambles.

we found a different kind preying mantis to the usual green ones .........


Malcolm came to visit, after only one year here, he is the third Malcolm to visit !!
we had good clear skies and saw good views of the sky at night.......

2007-04-17 Kittens Kittens Kittens !!

At midnight on the 16th April, she has 5 gorgeous kittens!
here they are at less than one day old.............

2007-04-03 Caroline comes to stay and we begin clearing our new garden!

This is the land beside the house, we have a lot of work ahead, its mainly brambles!



Dave "reshapes" the cherry tree at the 'limit' of the land.

We have started to clear the piece of ground beside us which the owner has promised to sell to us......we know it's jumping the gun, but she has given permission in an email for us to start !!

2007-03-26 Kitchen the final chapter.......

The gas hob is fitted, we just have to install the gas bottles in the cave now....

Under the hob is a great deal of drawers, 13 to be exact, i wonder what i will put in them ????

the rail around the edge, is the small wall Dave has built to give a plastered surface the other side and one day a tiled surface the kitchen side.................watch this space !!

2007-03-20 We get adopted by Kiwi

We were adoped by a cat!!!

One night last year when we were star gazing, we were joined by a cat........she stayed living on our terrace only going to her own home ( just 500m down the mountain) to feed, although she caught lots of mice and lizards as well.
She stayed even when it was pouring rain and even snowing!!
Eventually I plucked up enough courage to ask the owner if we could adopt her, the day i did this Kiwi came with me and was greeted by Anik her owner, with great joy!!
After her arrival and Anik's obvious joy at seeing her,I let the adoption speech drop..........2 days later I visited Anik again, and this time she asked ME if we wanted to adopt Kiwi, it turns out it's Aniks other cats which don't get on with kiwi, so we gained a cat................a pregnant cat !!!!


So here she is claiming a stake on the sofa!!

2007-03-20 The kitchen (cont)

Dave is starting to dismantle the shelves we have used for nearly a year......

Everything is back in a mess again !!!

But there is a new oven....whoopee!!

New work surfaces, are a real luxury as we only had a camping table before...

All this space....how will we ever fill it ????

2007-01-27 I spent a long time in the bath !

At last we got around to tiling the bathroom, it did involve me spending the whole day in the bath, but it was worth it !
