Here is the first of Kiwi's catches, fortunately all lizards this year have been delivered alive........

and my best picture of a butterfly yet...............its a Black veined white....quite a boring name for such a beauty, the wings were iridescent and it seemed ghost like when it flew !

2008-06-13 Dordogne

We visited Jane and Flaux in the Dordogne, this is a view from a nearby village which was having a fete the Sunday we were there, Jane bought a beautiful basket (see following pictures)


This is Sunday afternoons collection of Girrolles, a few ceps...................and THE basket !!

Me cleaning the Girolles, they live in a very sandy soil area, and we don't like too many bits of sand in our mushrooms !!

We found our first real batch of girolles or chanterelles , and had them for tea !!

We aslo found these, which without good ID we discarded, although they did look like field mushrooms, we found them under the edge of pines.........

2008-06-01 A very Sad Picture..........

UGH !!

This is the result of a few days of heavy rain, just as the cherries were ripening, down came the rain and now they have all 'exploded' ...........maybe some of the less ripe ones will survive, but I don't think there will be bottled or dried cherries this year..........:(

His new name is 'Kevin' after Harry Enfield's constantly moaning adolescent !!

A Small Montpelier snake found on the floor in the house after we got back from shopping one day, yes it's the one I nearly trod on, Sarah !!

A slightly larger one Mike and Dave found en route to Dausse.

Ceps in May ?? well we've had rain and its warm so why not, Dave also found some (3) chantrelles and all together we have found 5 Cep's like this !

The rain has made all the mosses on the roofs grow, its the wettest May for 58 years....... sound's familiar .....................

2008-05-16 Tiling the cave...........

After a brief pause in 'house improvements' and a short Honeymoon at Cailho-le-Haut , we begin again by tiling the cave, Dave attempted to lay tiles, but found his vocation in cement mixing, tile cutting, and tea making......thank goodness!!

2008-05-02 Olive tree no 2 + Wisteria

This is the second Olive tree we were bought as a wedding present from Mike and Sarah

there is something strange attached to it.........oh a husband !!

This is the Wisteria they also bought us, thanks guys, it will be much bigger next time you visit, and with luck be trained over the pergola.............!
