2008-02-29 not for the faint hearted !!

These beasties have been infesting my compost bin for over a year now

i think they are probably beetle larvae, but which one i don't know , as you can see they are quite big, anyone got any ideas?

the bonus is they eat the garbage at an enormous rate, but will they eat our beams too??

Are they friendly??? They weren't here 2 days ago.....

Perhaps if i lie still , they will come and greet me?

On the other hand, perhaps it's safer in the house, i think they are aliens!!!

Its safer to watch them from here !!

2008-02-08 Spring in Cailho

These are the lambs behind our house, we hope they all have only 1 or 2 each this year as last year there were triplets and the third was rejected by mum and was bottle fed, BUT oh SO noisy !!!!! if you double click the picture, you MAY be able to see the snowdrops !! the purple ones are violets, they have flowered all winter ....

This cheeky bluetit was on the fat almost as soon as I had tied it up !

Ahhhhhhhhhhh..........mint sauce.......

How COULD you ????

2008-02-01 A Visit to the Ardeche.........Tom Karine and New Home.

Tom and Karine in their kitchen.

The patio doors behind Tom have a very snazzy electric roller blind, and the main door is to the left of the picture. the shower room and toilet are to the right in this pic.

this is the view the other way towards the staircase, which can be formed to fit any(most) shapes! Each step can be individually moved, then you have to fit the right tread of course....
the insulation in the property is fantastic, and it is a really warm, cosy home.

2008-02-01 A Visit to the Ardeche...............Jon.

Here we are in Tom & Karines new home

Jon is showing me his computer game called Oui Oui (its Noddy in English) I thought it was a strange translation until Tom pointed out you nod your head when you say yes !
we are on the mezzanine, which leads to the bedrooms.

Dave is also having a lesson !!

later Jon asked me to read him a story, but did he want an English book........of course not, so this is Granny Jane struggling to read in French, Jon helped by nodding vigorously every time i got it right, and correcting my pronunciation when i didn't !!!!

This is Jon's outfit for the Mardi Gras, he discovered that if he huffed inside the 'eyes' steamed up !

2008-01-29 The inside of the cave now!

Inside the cave as it has never beeen before!

you can see see how wet it is where the water came through the rocks at the back.

Well at least Stephan was working !!

Ah here come another two, and the one holding the camera of course........reversing a motorculteur into the cave like this is a 2 man job, its very tricky !

BUT look at the VIEW !!!!!!!!!!! it still takes my breath away, literally when the wind blows.....
