2010-06-20 House with windows.....

All windows now installed, just need those shutters, and finishing off the stone work, and painting the beams, and painting the walls, and re-tiling the bathroom....etc.etc.etc......!!

2010-06-08 windows again......

Sorry for a slight break in the updates, I have been in the UK for 2 weeks......but I'm back and updating you all now !!

Dave, cleaned up the kitchen window, ready for the builders....

work starts on the kitchen and last window.

This is the only window which was actually marble, and very heavy !

the last window in place. a small piece of the marble remains under the new window sill.

Windows all finished, now the wall needs re pointing, and the shutters need fitting.

2010-06-08 Bathroom gets the treatment.

Monday 7th June wrapping still on windows, no builder because its Monday ! (oh la la le weekend!!)

Tuesday 8th June........first lintel in, its raining, and very unpleasant..the lintel taken out from behind the stone one, turned to dust as Jeremy tried to move it !!

2010-06-07 Moths and Wasp

Two very beautiful moths

This one was an iridescent blue/green

Who is imitating whom......this is inside an old kettle i have been meaning to plant up, but the long legged wasps got there first !

they only build nests about this size, and usually in something like the mail box or the car ! they are usually not aggressive, but are a little bit touchy around their nests...

2010-06-03 Windows the saga continues......

This was just after the top stone was unceremoniously dislodged from its place.......i just heard the thump, too late for the photo !!

you will notice the builders van in the foreground.....well its the van we drove back from the UK last year, Jeremy is its new owner..
Watching the work......its a new sport.

Heaving in the new beam, this has also come from Annicks restorations.

The old beam that was 'holding up' the stone above the window......there were two of these....rotten as this !

After the builders left on Thursday Kiwi decided to make everything hers again ....

including walking the plank.
This is how the window stayed for Thursday evening.....weather was hot fortunatly.

Friday Morning

New Frame being offered up.

New glass (still in wrapping) is put in for the weekend, in case of a storm !

Saturday 5th

Now the Volet (shutters) need to be treated , so we hired in an old biddy to do that...

Sunday 6th.......We are having a good thunder storm today, good job the glass was put in, and we will wait to see if the builder turns up in the morning, he's brother thinks not as it's a Monday !!
