2014-01-14 Terrace/Balustrade progress !

 

Dave has been busy, cutting and welding to make the balustrade fit the new terrace, he is nearly finished, then it all needs to come down again to be cleaned and painted……. meanwhile he is doing his Kate Winslet impression.

2014-01-23 Selling the Sofa ……..

After many good years of service, we are finally selling our sofa, we have bought another one, not new but smaller, and we hope of an equal quality…….however someone else seems reluctant to let it go…………

The best game is getting your claws in and propelling yourself as fast as possible around the floor……..even Dave’s  attempt to distract her with the table tennis ball doesn’t work……

She had better not try it with the new one !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2014-01-14 Jewel Orchids

 

Jewel orchids have better looking leaves than flowers, but as they have all flowered at once they look quite nice.

 

 

Really must finish that chimney stack this year !!

There is something magic about being above the clouds……….In this bottom picture the cloud was spilling over the edge of the mountain like a waterfall ……

2014-01-11 Wall and Walk (+mushrooms!)

 

The wall now holding up….Cailho !

11th January and there are mushrooms……….

These are poisonous ………..panther caps.

uuuuummmm dont go into the forest dressed as a fat Andy Pandy ! it frightens the wild boar :O)

These are Pied du Mouton  (sheeps feet) or in English …Hedgehog mushrooms, and are rather delicious , so they are going in the back pack !

 

These are unusually big for around here, must be the warm, damp weather we have been having………here they are all cleaned up, good thing about these mushies are they are quite robust, so they can be washed thoroughly, without too much damage.
