2010-11-24 <<NEW ROAD SURFACE>> (Ha Ha)

We have been promised for several years now that the road will be resurfaced, this year, unbeknown to the residents of Cailho the work commenced, with the entire stretch from St Etienne to La Salce being scraped and prepared by the 'digger' crew.......i am writing this on 31/12/10 as yet nothing else has happened, we have passed 2 deadlines, all cars were removed from the village and people stayed away from 8-5pm......and no one has turned up YET....we still live in hope especially as all the drain covers are now raised and creating hazards of their own !!!

2010-11-10 New Door and Corking the Cave

This is the oak from Frederic and Almuth which is going to be turned into a stable door for us by Valentine.......well thats the plan anyway !!



This is the 30m2 of cork we have bought to insulate between the beams in the cave, theory being there will be less draughts.




this is the men who put up the cork and choked on the dust all day, after i had vacuumed it as well !



this is the said cork in place and painted white, as it was very black.
