2012-05-30 The Cherry Harvest & The 1 2 3 of Proper Pruning !

 

These two below are are first from our grafts…..

Some of our best cherries yet……if only you could taste them :O)

We have about 8kg of these in the freezer, and countless more kgs we gave away to people and insects !

After the harvest, is the best time to prune cherries…….this one needs a proper prune. Apart from being too close to the house, some of the cherries are going rotten on the branches…….good food for the hornets !

 

 

Et Voila !

As the sun was shining, we went for a walk on our  4th Wedding Anniversary.

 

This is a meadow just down the mountain, the orchids are purple here.

Dont know what this one is ? any ideas ?

 

 

I think this might be something like London Pride….but that’s red isn’t it ?

 

I nearly trod on this beauty, a Montpellier snake i think.
