2012-02-06 In the Lanzarote Volcano ‘bubbles’

There is a tunnel, left by a lava stream over 3000 years ago……it is 7km long, but in places the gas in the tunnels escaped as bubbles and left huge craters, people on Lanzarote ( mainly an artist) have turned some of them into wonderful gardens  ( the cactus garden is one) or auditoriums………in one there is a pool which has sea water in which a blind white crab lives….this is how I understand it (the lava stream bit!)

In this first picture, I am looking under a rock of lava flow, on the next picture, you can see what is growing ON top of the rock.

unfortunately a bit of light, possibly reflection from the flash got in this one, but the crab is very clear……..
