Now this is a Female Emperor moth......(saturnia pavonia) she flies at night, the male flies in the day....?? does anyone else see a slight problem here, no wonder they are quite rare !!
I found her on Monday afternoon, just before a hail storm, so put her in a box during the storm, she chose to stay in the box for another 24hrs before flying off tuesday evening......Anyone staying in the guest bedroom this year, will have to watchout for the door keeper !!
